Hello, fellow Pepper White enthusiasts. This is my first post to NAM and I do it as I sit in agony, waiting for my Mini to arrive. She is currently aboard the Tarifa, somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean along with over 230 of her siblings. The ship captain is either unaware of my pain or doesn't care--the Tarifa makes no weather reports with which to track my Mini's progress. She is scheduled to arrive in CA on 8/6 and I probably still won't see her for at least another week thereafter. This is excrutiating...

 

I'll take #507 since I've had GracieGirl since May 07 and have loved every minute of her since then!!

 

Wondermini~ I feel your pain! I ordered almost 2 weeks ago0 Pure Pepper white with chrome exterior, and she's STILL on order. Not even scheduled for production yet! I'm haunting the forums and checking hourly in the owner's lounge. . ."Maybe they started production at 2:00?"
Can't wait to see her! I LOVE the idea of a subtle exterior hiding a crazy power beast on the inside!!!

Scoop is an 07 Mini Cooper S. Goodies are the chrome inside and out, English Oak interior, Sport suspension. . .

I, too, am waiting for my Mini to be loaded on the ship to come to America! In the meantime, I am awaiting the day I can pick up Becks and hope that this number is still available: 023

I scrolled back through to the last list and didn't see it on there (although someone already had number 23 and number 7) so may I please have 023?

In the meantime, I'm hoping to have it two weeks from yesterday (this may be wishful thinking) so that I can drive to see the real Becks when the Galaxy plays my hometown team of the Revolution.

 

Call 1800 ASK MINI and they can tell you exactly when they start building yours...

My PW just passed through the Panama Canal yesterday and is now on the last leg of her long journey to the West coast. I'm calling 2 more weeks of waiting, but that may be wishful thinking

Well, tdm156 and I have been communicating behind the scenes while trying to track down the whereabouts of Annette, who is the brainchild and architect of the peerage. We concluded that, even though we still need to determine her status, an update to the listing was warranted. Thus, the updated listing of our esteemed PW mates follows below.

Unless anyone out there in e-land objects, I will work with tdm156 to continue periodic updates to the listing as necessary (or until such time as Annette stuffs us back into our proper box).

Welcome back. I get my car this week and am happy to be part o the club. This is the first time I've bought a car simply because it was really fun to drive. 40 mpg didn't hurt my decision making either.

Please post a pic or two when you get the wheels added (who's the manufacturer?). I've been shopping myself and will be keenly interested in seeing how it transforms your MINI. I've been waffling between looks; still think black and silver/chrome combo of some sort would be superior.

 

Glad you like it, and thanks for the compliment! It'll be a "PaulieKeys" clone car with the 16" Rota Slipstreams once they are mounted.

I did just find out some slightly troubling news, and need peerage of the peppe white advice! My MA didn't put in for Chrome Exterior, which I really want. Too late for Oxford to do it, but the dealership will put on everything for sure except perhaps the bottom front grill part. From the pictures I've seen, I don't see a huge difference, and am tempted to let it go, but if anyone out there has seen the MCS with and without the front grill chrome, please let me know if you think it makes a huge difference.
Not too sure how hard to be on this. . . after waiting 6 years I want what I want! Tempted to cancel order and start over, but as of now I'm expecting delivery in mid-Sept.

If you think it'll drive you nuts everytime you look at the car, then I suggest re-ordering (or having the dealer do the complete swap on their dime). I'm sure waiting a few more weeks will be worth it to you a year down the road and looking back on it. It's just the wait right now that is difficult. Although, if you think you'd be content with the car "as is" and happy with every other aspect of it, then maybe having the chrome exterior isn't a high enough priority to bother you. For example, if you found your dream spouse, but they wore glasses, would that make you pass them up?

 

Thanks, Dan00hawk, for putting in perspective! Actually, since my dream spouse DOES wear glasses, and I think it's cute, that was a perfect analogy! I frankly can't see a huge difference in the front grill appearance with or without, and the dealership will do everything else.


For Sophie's mommy, the name is obvious: Sophie's Choice! Since that is the car she will undoubtably choose to ride in each and every time

 

The chrome wasn't a big deal for me so I didn't even order it. Especially after seeing some pictures of cars that people had blacked out all the chrome and it looks nice. I am thinking about doing that to mine when it gets here.

 

My MCS was "born" on 7/9 and will arrive in CA 8/6 - this is only a four-week span of time. I was lucky in that she only sat on the dock at Southhampton for a day or two. Unclear how long it will take to get her to me from the VDC, however.

 

That is so cool!!! Maybe by next Friday you'll be posting pics! That's a bit faster than I thought. I think MINI needs to give us a free bottle of sleeping pills. . .Are we all tossing and turning in anticipation? I am!

Oh please, oh please, oh please!!!

I have a road-trip to Monteray next weekend and I would love to be in my Mini for it! As far as I can gather from the forums on the "breaking in period", as long as I don't use the cruise control or go over 4.5K rpms or 95mph, I can still drive it long distances right out of the box.
