AH! You got me, but I'd like to stay as the first member (because I started the whole thing). Although right now I'm giving you special recognition for being a persistant motorer. Plus in my initial post, I said numbers will start on a first come first serve basis, and since I started at 1, the next numbers would fill up consecutively. Being first come first serve, you would have needed to start the MMC and start yourself at 0 or 00. Since you took so much time to get the definition of zero, I took some time making this response!

I know it's summer and this whole MMC thing is fun and all, but what exactly are we joining?? Is this a NAM sponsored club or are we just enthusiasts who love NAM and want to show our appreciation??---like using the MINI Logo on business cards and club stuff??

Also just for everyones information, everyone that's on the National MINI Motoring Database (FindAMotoringBuddy.com), you all have numbers too, all the way to #705!!!

The custom number thing is a tough one. I actually considered the same thing when I put this database together. I had the idea that if people put numbers on their car, they could be ID'd by the Motoring Database to hook up with others if they wanted to, but I never really solved that custom number issue.

Since MINI is such an individual and personalized brand, I thought it would be appropriate to give MINI enthusiasts yet another venue to (1) become even more unique, and (2) to become part of an exclusive group within the MINI community. As for future plans, I am hoping (along with Tad- goldcountrymini, and Craig- COOPERation) to be able to become a vendor here; and make personalized stickers and T-shirts available for MMC members. I think MMC could become quite a known club to MINI enthusiasts (considering we already have members from California, to Minnesota, to Pennsylvania). I agreed with Tad when he said " I think it would be neat to walk by somebody in the grocery store who has an MMC hat." The response to MMC here at NAM has been so successful, and it has great potential. So we are joining a virtual car club (as Tad calls it) that may, literally, hit the streets and make MINI owners, enthusiasts, and cars even more interesting and neat than most other auto manufacturers. Porsche used to be so "clubbish" that a flash of the headlights was mandatory, now mostly a dead practice. Ferrari is so expensive (both to buy and maintain) that there aren't enough around. MINI on the other hand is an accessable car in which owners really do become part of a group, and MMC is just another way to make MINI even more unique! As MINI says, " Let's Motor," MMC says, "Motor On."

No, the MMC was not created just to sell some products. It was created so people could have their own MMC status (in their sigs during posting). Now since there are so many members, and a few have asked for stickers and shirts, we are trying to make this gear available.You are joining MMC to part of the people who frequently post here, as opposed to those who rarely do. The gear is just for those who would like it, and to strike up converstations when other MMC/NAM members see you.:smile:

 

I think that we would be able to be more unique and part of an exclusive group if our numbers were excepted (there is a lot of sarcasm in this so don't take it offensively please, also I am a bar exam away from being a lawyer--ergo the persistence). Being that zero is a recognized number and that it fulfills my desire to be unique, I think it would be an appropriate fit. I don't want to be the first one on the list, as a matter of fact you can place me at the end of the list. I could be the perpetual last name on the list, or you can stick me somewhere in the middle. I just would like to be 00.
