Long time 53 owner gets into a.......

So I just sold one of my r53 and aquired this 2011 jcw.
it has some dents unser the wrap and a cel for bad 02 sensor but other than that the car runs and drives like a new car ! No exaggeration ! Only has 117k too.
It definitely isnt near as quick as my r53 were and are but they were far from stock. So a few mods should wake this jcw up.
lol at 1st I thought these cars were convertible hardtops but I believe it's just a solid top instead of that rag top version which I DONT like.
I'm very fond of this car interior, the alcantara and carbonfiber dash is a very nice touch along with the color changing mood lighting. What a Beautiful car this is actually.
anyway plans for the car are in order :
timing job and new headgasket and arp head studs, lightweight flywheel and stage 2 clutch ,fix dents and put on carbonfiber hood ,fenders , spoilers ect , some extra carbonfiber interior parts, catless down pipe and exhaust, carbonfiber intake , larger intercooler ,larger fuelpump , bigger better turbo and if adriancl tunes these minis , I absolutely will have him do my tuning. I anticipate it taking atleast 2yr to finish it all but this is what i love doing so its not work for me.
BTW??? what is this csr technically referred to ??? Is it an r56 , r58 r59 or what ???? Lol I'm confused on that.
also DOES the top actually fold down or was I just assuming that ? Not that I care because I don't like convertibles but if it does the wife or daughter would enjoy that..

Looking forward to see where this goes. 2011 JCW... Does it have the N14 engine? The JCWs are supposed to be built a little bit better than the S engines, even if they are still N14s. Get in touch with @Lou@Prototype-R when you're ready for a tune. He is a wizard with those engines.

It is an R58. And, no, the top does not come off / go down.

I believe it's an n14?????? How retarded !!!!! So the 2010+ S came with an n18 But the jcw came with an n14 ??? That makes absolutely NO sense to me !!!!
how STUPID if that's the case.
what's odd is this engine has like an n14 valve cover ect but yet looks like n18 everything else around it , so wtf I'd it really ??
Looks like I bought a stupid year , hodge podge thrown together car to get rid of last of left iver factory parts... good one mini , I now see why these new cars destroyed their reputation...

From the engine bay shot I saw the other day, looks like you have the n18. If the wires for the coils come from front side of engine, n14, if they come from back side or firewall, n18. Adrian can tune n14’s, but I don’t think he can do the n18, so as Nik said go with Lou.

It is an n14 , I guess jcw used the n14 until 2013 though the S had the n18 from 2010+... odd..
Doug demiro just dropped a video actually r58 today on the r58 jcw...
I actually just messaged adriancl to see about tuning...

R56 Catch Can setup
This is an installation of a Tracy Lewis Catch Can on my N14 JCW. Note the dirty vapors are drawn from the left side PVC port and the right side is blocked. Vacuum is obtained from the intake manifold when engine is running at low RPM. When in boost, vacuum is created by the Turbo. Note, fresh clean air is allowed to enter engine thru modified oil fill cap, eliminating any vapor lock.
