PPF heat dissipation on hoods
PPF heat dissipation on hoods
Hello folks,
Just picked up a GP3
!! It came with PPF on the hood, fenders, roof and mirrors. First time I've owned a car with PPF. I noticed that the hood is hotter than expected.
Can't find threads/info on the Inter-Web regarding the engine bays cooling capacity being affected by covering the hood with PPF, i.e. they just mention how the PPF withstands heat.
We go to great lengths to cool our engine bays then slap PPF/insulation over the hood.
Maybe someone/manufacturer did a before and after test?
Didn't see anything special about washing PPF, did notice that it's loaded with my greasy hands prints tho.
Your inputs are much appreciated as I'm unfamiliar with this product.
Thank you.
P.S. I had reached out to Mini & Ford years ago about factory approved PPF, both said talk to your dealer. Could be concerning if a dealer closes/person moves and next dealer/manufacturer doesn't cover possible damages caused by PPF. i.e. paint peeling, bubbles etc.
