What am I missing about "1TO6" ?
Latest special edition JCW Hardtop is called "1TO6" one-tee-oh-six? one TO six?
Is it because it's a 6 speed MT?

Yes!
6 speed has been the staple of the New MINI and the only manual transmission on the new one.
In Gen 1 MINIs they also had a 5 speed manual, which i had on my Cooper Convertible.
As most Makes go to all automatics, MINI is one of the few left.

Yep, I think it dawned on me as I was writing out. Not many new cars coming with a 6MT.
All the F-car people are converting their F1 semi autos at a price point that would be a good deposit on one of these JCW's
