How to find out if my seats are heated

Hello, I bought a 2009 clubman that was a hodge podge of cars put together, it has a nav radio and temperture controls with the heated seat feature, but as I push the button for the heat it doesnt light up like my other cars do, are the seats maybe from another car and dont have the heat part in the seat? how could I find out? also I rebuilt this motor on this car and when I first start it it runs rough and miss fires a little, but then it runs fairly smooth, I have noticed that when I pulled the new plugs, they were very black and sooty, meaning it is running rich ? what would cause this ? it is a 2009 Clubman S, I have changed the coils and the MAF and the valve cover , some help would be appreciated

Hello,

See here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...s-heaters.html

Gen 2 MINIs tend to take some time to warm up and then get hot. Hotter then Gen 1 MINIs.

Also, make sure it's no in ECO/Green mode. The seats are decidedly cooler when the car is in this mode.

Think that's on the Gen 3 MINI. In the Gen 1 and Gen 2 MINI their is no difference.
