Air Bag Light ON???
Air Bag Light ON???
TGIF Y'all...
I have an R53, 2005 Mini Cooper Sport, and I've been dealing with this Air Bag Light for a while now. I looked on YouTube, saw what other folks have been doing to resolve this, but nothing seems to work on my Cooper. If I need to take it to the dealer, then so be it, and see what they can do.
To date I've check connections, under the Pilot and Co-Pilot seats, made sure these are connected really good. I disconnected and re-connected, but nothing changed. I have a hand held code reader, that supposedly resets this active alarm, and I do press reset, but nothing happens.
Has anyone had the same issue, and how did it get resolved, if you had success clearing this alarm
Thanks for any suggestions you have...
Lou

What's the code? Failed occupancy sensor mats are common on the facelift cars; there was a recall.
Oh, and you didn't disconnect things while the battery was connected, did you? That will set a code as well, and not all code readers can clear SRS codes.

Blown Battery Safety Terminal (Sqib) ?
Had my airbag light on for 7years. The dealer and an independent BMW garage declared that the entire pos cable running the length of the car had to be replaced = $1,000 - $1,200...
Until I found this thread : Battery cable squib resistance .
I preformed this repair almost 3years ago. Works perfectly
It might just be the answer.

Thanks!!!!
Saw the previous thread regarding this issue, I also saw the pictures, resistor details, and will get one of these! This is awesome, I've been needing to fix this, but dread taking PEP to the dealer! There's other work I need to do to this Supercharged Go Cart, but this light is paramount!
Thanks Again

The BST/"squib" may look un-detonated but commonly fail without visual perception.
Gad you saw the DIY BST fix thread.
