Paint Correction / Coating

Anyone had any experience with paint correction / post protective coating?

I have some scratches and paint swirls and looking for a refresh...and was wondering if the above is worth it.

Thank you

Automotive painter (+15yrs). If the scratch is white, it can typically be corrected. It would have to be really bad, or flaking for a complete loss

The detailer will be able to tell you if it's possible. Pictures would also be helpful

So, you're saying it's not just an overhyped, overpriced service....it may actually be worth it. Thank you

it's absolutely worth it. You can save paint instead of a respray. A good paint correction for the entire vehicle will run you around $600-$800 is my guess

@Mini Devil

The first place said about 2400 and you need a 3 step process.

The next place said 2 step and its 849 for the paint correction and then 499 for 5 year coating.
Not bad.

The last place is 2000 for paint correction and 1000 for ceramic coating and they gave me a bunch of caveats (it won't fix this...this will only get a little better)

So it varies pretty wildly

You can do the ceramic coating yourself and save a ton of $$$. It's not difficult. There are a ton of videos on YouTube to help. Here's an article that might be useful:

Just a quick update. I decided to try an obscure detailing place to see what they could do. By far the cheapest out there and he talked like he could get most of the issues addressed. I was thinking it was probably worth a shot but was skeptical.

of course when i saw him get in his car to leave i just thought “I’m in”

his brand “new to him” green countryman

lets do this
