2017 Mini Cooper S Clubman - Transmission Problem
Turns out it was not the transmission at all, transmission is in excellent condition. It was something else.

I'm sorry I can't offer an explanation or experience.
If your dad bought the Mini from the dealer & the warranty is through the dealer....
If it were me; I would, perhaps, implore the dealer to maybe make some confessions given low milage on a 5 year old car.
