Amazon mirror caps

Thinking of getting my wife a set of mirror caps for her 2019 MINI hardtop. From MINI they are $100+ dollars and that does not cover shipping. Amazon has ones for half the price. What is the difference? Would you recommend one? Also for a chili red MINI with a black top would you go with the colored or b&w union jacks?

Any other accessories that you have had good luck with that are simple to apply like these but add just a little something different?

A link to the part you're considering might be helpful...

That's what I was thinking... Those caps that you linked are only "Covers" for the existing caps, where the Mini mirror caps are full replacements. That's why the big difference in cost.

Thanks, I thought the MINI ones where the same thing. I did not realize they were replacements. How difficult are these to change out?

If they are anything like the R56 caps, which I think they are, they just pop off. I can swap both of mine out in less than 5 minutes.

As Njaremka said, pretty easy. It helps to have a plastic trim tool to slip between cap and base and pop it free.

I have a set of cheap AliExpress mirror covers (gold Union Jack) on my F55. They came with adhesive strips already in place on the caps, easy to peel and place. They've held up fine. The edge shows a bit, but I rarely notice it.

The factory MINI caps which are full replacements, not just covers, and they look _much_ better.

But… I'd save the money and buy the covers. Obviously. That's what I did.
