Low Mini dealership stock

Here in Madison, Wisconsin, our local dealer used to have a big lot full of new Minis. There were probably 50 new cars on the lot a couple years ago. I recently saw a Facebook ad saying they have the largest stock of Minis in the area, or something to that effect. I went to their website and they have exactly one new car in stock. I was there a couple months ago and the lot was almost empty. Anyone know what is going on? Is Mini trending toward special orders? Is there some sort of a supply problem?

Not sure what rock you've been living under, but there's an ongoing global pandemic that has severely impacted silicon chip availability, global logistics, and a jillion other things. Manufacturers of just about everything are having supply issues right now.

Dealers have 0 new inventory.....

In 2yrs either gas will be too expensive for most to pump, or non-existent many places altogether......Fuel for personal use in small engines like; leaf blowers and weed trimmers, lawn mowers will only be available in small sealed canisters sold by the quart unless you have a business license to present at the pump.

The Trillion dollar bill currently on the desk of congress has a yearly mileage tax embedded within it.....So much for our MINI motoring pleasure and fun.

Jaguar has ceased all production of all their F-Pace, E-Pace, XJ, XF, XE and F Type, in preparation for their run of electric vehicles slated for 2025.

Ford's only passenger car, Mustang Mach E, only passenger car they currently sell....Soon their SUV's will be following suit.

We are being pushed into Electric....like it or not.

The grid won't be able to handle electric, nor is their enough raw materials on earth.

It sound's crazy, but I enjoyed living in a bicycle town when I was younger. I rode to work and school everyday and only used my car on the weekend to get groceries.

I was at the Mercedes dealer yesterday picking up my Sprinter van from their service department. Talking to the sales people, they only have 2 cars on the lot that are not sold.

.
1- The cost of electric cars by itself will make it cost prohibitive for many to even own a personal mode of transportation...so then grid problems no longer an issue.?

2- Personal modes transportation will be a luxury for the elite just as a GS5 is now.

I went to my local Mini dealership for service and I'm not sure if I saw one Mini on the showroom. There were just used sportscars. Outside was mainly BMWs, but I didn't look close enough to see if they were new or used.
I wasn't sure if it was just the Mini brand was dying or the new car shortage, maybe a bit of both.

Pretty sure that's not a passenger car. "Electric mustang" peaked my interest until I saw it was an ugly SUV.

I believe while it does have a higher roof line( ala SUV) , I think its still considered a "passenger car", but I get what your sayin.

Reminds me of a Tesla Y series..... a bit more reliable though and much sportier.

Not living under a rock. Your condescending post is not appreciated. Thanks for the other helpful responses.

Keep in mind: Due to the Mini summer break, there is a delay in shipping new cars.

That is not true. It only creates a pilot program to discover how much people drive which will be used to calculate how to fairly tax electric vehicles.
