My First JCW
My First JCW
Over the years I have had a lot of Mini Coopers. All were S but 2-doors and then the Countryman. I made my last move in April using the 2020 Countryman S. Had a bloodhound and a basset hound in the back with the seats folded down of course and the english bulldog riding shotgun. 1700+ miles in 24 hours, 31.9mpg and averaged 77mph. Yes I was hauling from Arizona to Indiana. Long story why I traded that recently but I can never be just a one car garage for my main driving cars/trucks. So yesterday the 21st of August I traded a 4Runner in for a 2017 JCW with a little over 61,000 miles on the ticker and a clean carfax. Everything checked out on the test drive where the country road was like a F1 race course.
My user name is brand new because I could never get my old user name changed. CosmicBlue15 will show my past mini's. I'd post a photo of the new 2017 but cannot remember what size they have to be and I cannot read the alerts that the forum is sending me when I try to upload an image. It was hard to tell when I looked the car over but it's Rebel Green. I like it. Would that color be considered British Racing Green?
It's great to be back on the road with a 2-door again, although the Countryman was also a great Mini Cooper.

We have owned six minis, the first four being the "S" variant including two manual, fully loaded Cooper S, a Convertible Cooper S, and a Clubman Cooper S. Then, we bought a 2012 Roadster that was less than a year old with very low miles at a price we couldn't pass up. It was not an S but the recent engine change made the difference less noticeable.
A couple months ago we picked up our first JCW we ordered a couple of months prior. A fully loaded 2022 JCW Countryman in pearl white with red roof and mirror caps and stripes. What a difference in power. Road and Track did 0-60 in 4.4 in this model...I haven't tried that. Driving this car, I fully understand how putting a Ferrari or Lambo in the hands of someone that has never driven a car with a ton of power can quickly get into trouble when they hit the gas. This car has plenty of power to get on the highway.
We still own the 2012 Roadster along with the JCW Countryman. These are our daily drivers. We also have a 2019 Mercedes Sprinter passenger van decked out for my wife's touring, when this covid crap goes away and music tours return to performing arts centers and arenas. We finished building it out right before Covid shut everything down.
Congrats on your JCW!
