Light modded Mini. What would you do?

Hey NAM people

I have 2004 R53 for past 6 years and i am planning on keeping it for a long time, its been parked in garage and i drove it once in few weeks in summer time, i would like to do some light mods on it but I really don't have idea where to start from, what would you do?

I would start with light weight wheels and full suspension refresh.

I'd do a 15% or 17% pulley, rear swaybar upgrade (like an H Sport), and light wheels.

How well have you kept up with maintenance on the car? First thing you should do is make sure about the reliability from a starting point. Touch on things like supercharger service and maybe timing chain if it hasn't been done.

I was trying my best to keep maintenance up to date, supercharger is changed and serviced ( bought used sc from 60k miles mini that was rear ended ), belts, alternator etc changed, timing chain was not done during my ownership, i bought it with 70k miles back in 2014 and it does have 90 k miles now.

I second the suspension work. If nothing has been done, it will likely need some LCA bushings and strut mounts at minimum. I expect there is some tower mushrooming as well. I’d leave the timing chain alone unless there is an actual problem.
