Can anybody tell me what this is?

Hey everybody. Long time viewer of this page but just now actually created an account. I have a 2012 R55 Clubman with the N18. Every time I change the oil and filter, there’s this metal bracket thing that gets in the way of getting the filter out and I’m not sure what it is. I’m able to pivot it out of the way but not exactly sure if I’m supposed to be able to do that or not. It has a barcode on it and I looked up the number, but can’t find any info. Can anybody tell me what this is?

Thanks! Am I supposed to be able to move it back and forth, and is that ok to do to get it out of the way when changing my oil filter?

Yes it's just the shifter lever for the trans and it has a weight on the end to make shifting easier. No issue moving we do as the filter comes out much easier
