As per the title, NewTIS, the site that gave us instructions to dismantle and reassemble parts, descriptions of connectors, and wiring diagrams has been shut down by order of BMW.
Access to the official BMW TIS will set you back
$30 for 24 hours
$250 for 1 month
$2500 for 1 year
Well, this sorta explains why my like-new Bentley hardcopy MINI service manual sold in a few hours on eBay yesterday. I had purchased it a couple months ago, but ended up not using it (the newTIS pages were superior for my purposes, as I pulled the front end off, removed the head to fix a burnt valve, then reassembled with a bunch of new parts). I am SO disappointed newTIS is no longer available. I don't mind paying for service info, but the BMW rates are exorbitant.
This sucks.
Not so much for my 2009 R55 as for my
wife’s 2020 F23. I have the Bentley manual
for the MINI but doubt they’ll ever be
a Bentley manual for the M240i.
At least it has 3 more years of factory
warranty and 3 more extended after that.
Thanks. Will probably get it for my
desktop PC for TIS type reference
as I have a couple advanced scan tools
for diagnostics, adaptations, battery
registration, ABS flush, etc.
