I have a 2017 "Justa" which I love but the sound system sucks. I have heard that these "Bavsound" ($297 for my car) are a vast improvement. However, I don't see them as being as easy install as they imply. I am a pretty handy/tech savvy guy but this concerns me.
Have any of you attempted an install yourselves ?

I've had previous experience upgrading the speakers on my BMW with BavSound. If that's all you're planning on doing, it's more or less a matter of removing your door card, disconnecting wiring harnesses, and removing the original speaker, disconnecting its +/- terminal wires, and reverse order with the new speaker. I don't have any experience with amplifier upgrades. They usually have pretty thorough video guide as well.

 

Too bad they don’t have these for
the gen 2 models.

 

Was the improvement significant ?

 

Save yourself time and money, If you really want to upgrade your system, go for an aftermarket premium brand, there's plenty fo them! Focal, JBL, Pioneer etc.
in my experience (upgrade stage one) Bavsound vs stock you will never notice the difference...

 

I did the upgrade on my 2014 R55 with Harman Kardon and the difference was incredible (this version is no longer available). Maybe it has to do if you have harman kardon or not. Not sure how it is on the F56.
