Hello, I'm having issues using Winkfp. I'm trying to code a replacement FRM for my R56. At first it wasn't showing the correct modules, i reinstalled the files via directions i had found around the net. Now its showing the modules, but its giving me a error. I'm including pics of the errors and of my cable. I have noticed i am getting the same error with the cable attached to the car as i am with the cable not even hooked to the laptop and trying the same thing. I was able to pull the VO and VIN from the CAS using Nscexpert. I'm leaning towards it maybe being a cable compatibility issue?
For some reason i never noticed it mentioning that the 00frmr3.ipo files are not found. I'm thinking about doing a fresh install?
Its installed on a windows 10 64bit. I'm wondering if i should maybe install it on my XP pro desktop and just carry it into the garage and give it a shot off of that instead of the windows 10 laptop?

If you loaded up the spdatens then you should be fine. In some cases, I used to get this error too. since my goal was updating the module, i would just go to update and select the module i want. We could do a teamviewer to run though the issue.
For the FRM, you need to write the VO with NSC (fA_schrieben) and the do SG_reset.
Ok thanks. I had actually found a webpage that showed some errors and how to fix it. And it showed it the way you discribed as forcing the flash i guess for lack of better terms. I wasn't sure about trying it. I just made sure my imports where done and will give it another go later today. I may have to take you up on the offer of teamviewer if i can't figure it out soon.
OK i did some tinkering today with no luck. I think i have everything installed correctly. Here is a video of my trying to do what you said you did. Either something is wrong, or its the user lol. After freezing my hands off (no heat in my unattached garage) i gave up. I even tried to enter the zub in from my frm3 since mine wasn't on the list. So is it possible that maybe the replacement FRM isn't compatabile? the real oem site confuses me.
After all of the fighting trying to get this to work, i searched my computer for the 00frmr.ipo file that the orginal screen pic shows that is not found, and no results are found on my whole pc. So is the missing file the issue?
old frm was 61353456588-02
new 61353456395-01
I also added a pic of my inpa list
and here is a video of my trying what you said, and i also followed these instructions and nothing.. Solution: I choose confort mode enter zub mine was 9204527 for frm2 then I enter vin click ok then zub update click done after that send me to other window and I hit prog.zub update and program successful! Then exit winkfp. FRM is programmed correctly.
both the old and new are frm3. Atleast the tags say frmr3 on both of them.
Winfkp version is 5.3.1
Usb is on COM 1 and latency is 16msec
Maybe the replacement frm3 is bricked?
EDIT.. i see why you said FRM2. I typed that by mistake in my earlier post. I was up almost 20 hours (i work nights) and must have had a lack of brain function.
I forgot to mention that the headlights are on but its intermittent. Sometimes both will be on, sometimes just one, but the tail lights are always on thats with the switch in the off position.
I'm thinking about doing a fresh install of everything before i try again.
the headlights should be off unless you turn them on. if they're on all the time, the FRM is bad EVEN if it were not coded or programmed.
try to restart the computer to see if that helps INPA otherwise, try using another usb port. but the latency should be 1ms regardless. i have few minutes now if you would like to teamview
Sorry i posted that and went to bed. I got a chance to try it again for a few minutes. As soon as i turn the ignition on the headlights come on. And if i start the car they stay on even with the switch off. Now the passenger light was on for a while but went off, but i think it may have something wrong related to the flood beacause i can hear it making a whine sound vs the drivers side. Either way the switch inside is OFF for the lights and they are on.
So, i tried all 3 USB ports that i have and none would connect using INPA. And for some reason I forgot to mention that the battery died last week because a big dummy let the fob in the tray when they shut it off and walked away for the night. I'm wondering if that didn't kill my FRM? I don't remember the headlights working until after that area.
And another note, my harbor freight scanner will connect and let me see live data and pull codes.
And about the teamview, The car is my bigger garage that has no wifi, So to team view i would have to do a bunch of moving things around and pull it into the driveway. Not saying i won't put the effort into that, but it will take me a little to get that done. And maybe my problems the whole time has been the fact that the FRM is junked. Because i didn't start trying to recode it until after the dead battery, i was just running it to burn up the old gas.
So that brings up another question. Are they fixable after this by sending them out to some of the repair places i have seen? I at least only have $30 into this FMR, it sucks having it be junk, but lesson learned.
also i have never done teamview, My Internet is only a 2.8 meg connection is that enough?. Its the fastest DSL i can get and the only high speed option other than satellite. The benefits of living in the country lol
I just looked at the shot you sent earlier for INPA, I dont even see FRM module! the fact that the lights stay on and I can bet the windows dont work is an indication of a dead FRM.
google teamviewer and install the latest version, i dont think speed is an issue. you can reinstall INPA if you want to see if it fixes the issue. Does it still connect to the car if you go through NCS?
no i can't get it to connect to anything. I can't even pull any info from the CAS with NCS. I was wondering what was going on that it wasn't showing up in the info view of INPA when i got it to connect.
I will install teamview. Do you think INPA isn't connecting due to the FRM issue? or are they seperate?
Yeah, lights are on and no windows working but that could be from the switches being bad from the flood i have yet to replace them the speedo/radio and cd came today.
Also another thought, i have the switch panel unhooked that has the window and lock switches. I'm assuming that it wouldn't effect the FRM not showing up?
i'm leaning towards it being a FRM issue since its not showing up, and i can kinda remember last fall when i was messing around being able to pull info from both the CAS and the new FRM, but i didn't hook up the laptop again until recently after the battery issue i had last week. I don't have heat in the garage i still have insulatiion and wiring work that needs done so i don't do much project stuff when its winter.
not connecting the switch panel wont effect the FRM connectivity to the system. Even without FRM, you should be able to connect INPA. I think the only case where you cannot connect is when the CAS is out/disconnected.
Another thought is to go back to the COM properties and make sure it is in COM1, if it is showing as COM1, reinstall the USB drive, perhaps the antivirus removed something to disable it.
question on the side, does the car start? how high did the water get?

Ok, the CAS is in so it looks like its a issue with my INPA install or something odd happened after i changed the port settings. I will check the settings in the morning when i get home and see if i get a chance to tinker. If that doesn't work i will reinstall INPA and try it again. Another thing to add is i have tried connecting with the engine off ignition on, and also with the engine running. Something has to be going on with the INPA, usb, or my cable, since my other scanner will connect and pull the missfire codes.
Yes the car does start, I had to replace the key tray to allow that to happen without needing to hold the button and clutch down for the 10-12 count. Now with the new tray it works as it should and fires right up, its missing and sounds cammed up at times, but i can deal with that at a later date.
The water had to be over the tach as it had dirt inside of it and the digital displays did not work. As to how far over the tach, i have no idea.
So far i have replaced the FRM (which looks to need replaced again or sent out and fixed), the tach, key tray, and radio assembly and passenger footwell fuse box. I still need the sport button I'm assuming i haven't tested it, and the switch panel with the heater controls and power windows. The interior is still removed from the car as i'm not placing the carpet and seats back in until i get all of the electronics working as the should.

I got ISTAD installed. I haven't had time to try it, but hopefully will get a chance in the next 24hrs. So much stuff to do, and not enough hours in the day and dollars in the pocket lol
