Apple CarPlay or Mini Connected?

Hello- New owner and new to the forum. My 2019 Cooper S is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Mini Connected but they seem redundant and I am wondering if having both is causing issues with connecting my phone to the car. Apple CarPlay has more useful features for me. Mini Connected seems to use a lot of battery on my phone, perhaps because of all the auxiliary apps that come to life when I enter my car with my phone (audible...). Other than the ability to remotely make sure my car is locked, I'm not sure of the value of Mini Connected, perhaps locating the car if it is stolen?. Should I just delete my Mini Connected app or is the inconsistent Apple CarPlay connection an issue regardless?
Thanks so much!

I had a similar issue and deleted the Mini connected app. It doesn't seem to matter as Spotify and Amazon Music are still automatically opened if my phone is unlocked when I turn the Mini on. Really annoying I can't stop that from happening. If I switch to Apple CarPlay the system has a nasty habit of controlling my phone when I drive. Generally not an issue but when my wife is with me she plays Pokemon Go on both my phone and hers from the passenger seat and is constantly fighting for control of my phone.
