Wet or Dry Decal Application?

Just purchased some new vinyl decals to self install on my Mini - I am an amateur at this. Should I go with the wet or dry application process?

Wet. It gives you a chance to make adjustments before you squeegy them down. I've replaced bonnet stripes twice and added boot stripes...and take your time.

Use some solvent or better yet actual wax & Grease remover, with lint free cloth. Surface needs to be really clean. Also try not to let bubbles get under vinyl - they are a hassle to work out. I had to use a pin to puncture a few of them.

Watch a u-tube on technique.

Have fun, you can do it!

Spray bottle with just a little bit of baby shampoo, that’s what I always use, if you search online you find the exact amount to add to the water

Definitely soapy water. Get a vinyl application squeegee. They are similar to body putty paddles only stiffer. I’ve applied a lot of decals to n cars, fire trucks, etc. Use plenty of water and work the bubbles out from the center outwards. Let the decals set for a while before you try removing any outer protective film to keep from peeling the decal up. Work slowly.
