My new old 2006 S bought Saturday with 45k miles and $7,500 drove it home 90 miles and smiled all the way home but driving there was a nervous about what I will find.
I went to dealer up North Jersey to buy a 2012 S and get there test drive it and brakes are making car shimmy and they think they have me on sale and I walk out and they followed me out the door.
They were going to charge me 850 for inspection and 200 for window etching and one other charge and I tell them to stick it..
I drove 100 miles to buy and bring the car home not inspect car and be charged all these fees and have to travel back for a follow up inspection I did on car.. So just beware of dealers charges..
They called be the next day to take the 850 off if I buy and I said more charges would have to be removed..
I want to mention that this was online buying tactics of cheaper price to lure you and then hit you with all these charges.
So the 2006 was next car inline and happy no dealer was involved.

should I even bother?
I wen to check out a 2013 Mini Cooper Base with 49000 miles on it
at the dealer we the the hood not opening issue. I wasn't aware of it being a common problem. didn't know if it was the cable or the latches, until I got home and searched it on here and found there are a lot of issues with it seeming to be the cable
Never the less I left without being able to look under the hood. Suppose to go back tomorrow because they were working on that today
I had planned of having a PPI on the vehicle, but that doesn't guarantee something unforeseen wont break tomorrow.but assuming that the water pump, thermostat housing, coils, timing belt tensioner among other things haven't had issues or been addressed yet, am I just looking for trouble with that many miles on it?
