Lost ECU - 2013 Mini JCW GP

Hey everyone -

Sad that this is my first post but I have a bit of a problem.

Fedex has lot my ECU for my 2013 Mini JCW GP.

I am wondering what my options are.

Can I:

A) Find a ECU online and put it in the car?
B) Does it have to be a ECU from another JCW GP
C) Order a brand new one, wait 6 weeks directly from BMW/Mini?

Any other options I haven't considered? It was going to get a tune @ m7.

Thanks everyone in advance.

JN

Typically a it's a dealer item for $1800 and $300 to marry it to your GP. You need a 17.4 version ECU.
I do Manic in California in case you don't want to ship it next time

Thanks for the info Sir. Is it usually on site at the dealership that they marry it to my GP?

And I don't want to ship it next time haha.

The dealer will need the car and new ECU at the dealer for a half day

Sorry to hear it. It's the exact reason I've never had my car tuned. Coincidentally it was Mario who I was talking to about sending the ECU to him and I tried to get him up to Portland but couldn't find like minded people to get car tunes done.

The few online folks I talked to told me they never go missing!

I assume FEDex is paying.

You will have to get a new ECU as you can't put a used one in it.

If you are close enough to Atlanta we can do it for you. If not I can at least get you the ECU. Hope I can help.

Because it's married to the car and VIN specific.

Just cause it's for sale doesn't mean it will work, we also see keys for sale all the time that the sellers say just needs to be programmed to your car and this is just not an option. Save your money and don't bother.

Noted. ****en nightmare here.

Fedex certainly won't cover the cost of a new ECU. Rough day. Haha.

I'm sure you have already filed a claim with them. Did they straight up say they will not cover it?

They probably cover $100 unless you insure package.

Wasn't able to insure the package to the value of the product. I am in Canada and it reached FedEx through Canada Post.
