R53 Driver door lock

R53 Driver door lock
Purchased 2 weeks ago and immediately discovered the keys will unlock the door manually but not via the button. It unlocks everything else just fine. Any simple fix?

+1 check the battery first. Then sure you are in range, the gen 1 MINIs dont have a far range. Then check the fuses and the receiver which is located in the rear view mirror.

If so the most likely culprit is a drivers door lock actuator, second to that could be a BCM problem.

when i bought mine it had the same issue. drivers door would lock electronically but only unlock with the key. it was def my door lock actuator. there's some great write ups about fixing it yourself. i followed the directions and mine now works great.
