Strangest thing that left you with a flat tire

When the shop replaced the run flat they found this inside the tire.

What the hell is it??
Didn't happen to me but to my motoring buddy on a road trip. One of the valve stems just broke. He had shot his tires with a real good sealant so when I tried using my pump, the sealant did its job on the leak. We motored 20 some miles to the nearest town to get it fixed with flashers flashing doing about 20 MPH all the way. Wound up replacing all four defective valve stems.

Looks like part of a spoon.

Had a key go through the tread one time. A car key was still attached to the ring.

I had the outside layer of one of my valve stems burst on me this summer. Came out from work to find a left front flat. Took me a while to find the split down the side of the valve stem.

This one did not actually cause a flat. It pulled out cleanly and didn't cause loss of air.

Had a 10mm allen wrench go through the tread and end up inside the tire once.

Does unscrewing four valve stems of a creep in college count? Not that I ever participated in such an action. I believe he had four flats that day.

I once saw a spark plug sticking out of the rear tire on a motorcycle.

A ten inch piece of 1"x 1/8" steel flat bar.

It went between the wheel and the tire bead and disappeared! I didn't see it until I dismounted the tire.

By golly that just shook loose a memory. Years ago I had a wheel on my old TR start shaking like crazy. Finally got to a shop, pulled it off and dismounted the tire. It had a shovel full of dirt in it. I had been on a dirt road rally track, took a hard turn and must have hit a ridge hard and fast enough to let dirt in but no air out. The tire still had good pressure when they tested it.

And I thought I was the only one to have a key puncture a tire.

Not on my MINI, but on a Police Interceptor at my work, somehow a Co2 cartridge from an air gun went right through the tread on a rear tire. Small end first. And this was not a bald tire, still had plenty of life left. Another Unit's rear tire took a 10mm wrench (which appeared to have been cut in half previously), open end first, right though the tread, and ended up entirely inside the tire. Big hole in the tread, nothing found until dis-mounting the tire. These are all W-speed rated tires, good to 186 MPH, I believe. You would think they would be a bit tougher....

I guess it's a frequent thing . . . key stuck in your tires that is!!!
Almost the entire key went in.

Worse... the tire was brand new, just mounted! I must I drove about 5 miles on it but got lucky I had been offered a road hazard insurance for free on that set...
