Getting boost ?
Im new to mini engine and don't know much about them but wanting to learn. Is it possible to turbo a n16 2012 mini? If not then is it possible to do an engine swap to a turbo or supercharged motor? If so what else needs to be done? I've also herd that the turbo charged motors have had turbo oil problems?
There are so many differences between the two engines and their electronics that it would be much cheaper, and a lot less work, to trade your N16 MINI for an N18 MINI.
There was a recall to put a heat shield on the turbo oil line on the MINI Cooper S models, it keeps oil from coking up inside the oil feed line. An even better fix is to wrap the hot side of the turbocharger with an insulating blanket, your hood scoop and turbo oil feed line will thank you for it.

Bolt patterns for the wheels? The MC and MCS 2012 will both be 4x100 if that's what you are referring to.
I know somebody on this forum has done the N12 to N14 swap, looked like a ton of work.

Engine wise
Would the n18 bolt pattern be the same as the n16 and the transmission or would that be involving fabrication? Could you point me in the right direction to finding the n12 to n14 swap?

You're in luck I found the thread, I posted in it a long long time ago and had to search through my post history to find it:
