Cheap stripe application in Rochester or Philadelphia?

I bought bayswater stripes online for the front and back of my MINI. I don't trust myself to install them, so I'm looking for somewhere to install them without breaking the bank. I travel regularly between Rochester NY and Philadelphia PA so suggestions in either of these places work. I went to one place near home and they quoted me $150 for just the front (so I'd assume 300-400 total for front/rear and removing the existing front stripes).

Is this a price I should be expecting or have you guys gotten it done for cheaper?

Remove the old stripes now and leave them off for awhile and clean and detail that area. Don't pay anyone to do something you can do.

Come to NC and I'll do the install for $150

I'd love to be able to do this myself, but it doesn't seem very easy. I'd have to cut it around the MINI emblem, the hood scoop, etc; make sure it's straight, and be careful not to mess up any of the small hash marks.

I don't really want to mess up $130 worth of stripes when I could pay someone (a reasonable amount) to do it right and if they mess up then they're the ones buying new stripes, not me.

I agree but removing them is easy and you should do that yourself

You have a good point, I'll probably do that once I find a place I want to install mine. Do most shops do their own prep work before applying (wax stripping, clay, etc)?

You need to leave the car stripeless for a bit and in full sun. As for prep, I wash the car with Dawn dish soap to remove all wax and then to make sure, Windex. After the new stripes are on go full polish on it, even over the stripes.

Okay, good to know. Thank you very much!

EDIT: Is there anything special I should do when polishing? I don't want to end up with a bunch of buildup on the edges of each part of the stripe.
