I have a 2011 Mini Cooper hatchback. It's an automatic. About a week ago it started doing something strange. While I'm driving, it will randomly start shuttering, as if it's in the wrong gear. I noticed it usually does it when I accelerate. I got my brake fluid flushed about 2 weeks ago at a Mini dealer and they didn't tell me there was anything wrong so I don't know why this is happening... does anyone have any ideas as to what could be wrong?
It could be dropping in idle and then when you throttle it drops from a vaccum leak ? Do you have scan tool ? are you geting and CEL codes on the dash?
Is it an S model? If so could possibly be High Pressure Fuel Pump, among other things. What kind of mileage do you have? Could be bad gas, I had that happen to me several times over the years, particularly bad if old comes from a low volume gas tank or car doesn't get used much.
