Godspeed Coilovers
Godspeed Coilovers
I think I'm going to try 'em. Any HUGE red flags? Can't find much about them, seem similar to Megan. I'll never track it but like having ability to adjust height and rebound. For $630 if figure what the heck. Anyone have them?

they are sold on ebay just like godspeed it's kind of a derogatory remark on someones part but the same goes for just about all hardware now everything is on ebay
The miata guys seem to like them and I think flyin miata repackages these as their brand
I'm not sure if the 6kg/mm spring rates works for r53's
it's too bad they dont have dual adjust option

Also Flyin Miata certainly does not repackage them. They co-developed a better V-maxx, had specially valved AFCO shocks in their better coilover and now works with FOX on their newest coilovers.
6K rates may be fine. I personally like a higher rear rate tho; I have 4.5K front 5.5 rear
A friend gave me a Godspeed intercooler, long story short it's a crap intercooler. Whether that's a reflection of all their parts I can't say, but typically adjustables under $800 are good for show not track driving.
OP here. True, I found them on Ebay. It doesn't seem like anyone hates them. For the price I'm curious. I don't plan on Auto X, they will never see snow or salt, not even sure I'll have the car in a few years. I could spend twice as much on ST XT's (the better setup from my research) but I pretty much just commute and take a 30min drive to the coast from time to time. I know I could just get springs to lower it but I'm trying to get something better than stock that doesn't have that "whammo" effect over railroad crossings and potholes. I was looking at the "entry level" ST's for $740 but they are non adjustable dampening/rebound and don't include camber plates, let alone adjustable ones like Godspeed. Then I was stuck on Megan EZ's (now euro series) but the Godspeeds look like the same. Thanks for all the replies. Oh, by the way, I have a R52. Milltek cat back, Alta CI and 15% pully. Drag DR-19 17x7.5, Rear Eibach 19mm and adjustable control arms still in the boxes, new tires TBD after suspension "upgrade".

Seems like you only cheaped out on your wheels by the given modlist. I'm surprised one of the most important parts of the car isn't worth it to you.
Track car is gonna get coilovers but I dont want to spend 2k on them, money is better spent on track time
"Dr", have you driven a car with Godspeeds? I was trying to get some impressions of people that have. I am aware there are much, much better coilover options than Godspeed. I don't feel right putting $2k suspension on a $8k car. Oh, the Godspeeds do include adjustable camber plates and you bet I "cheaped" out my Drag Wheels. $345.00 to my door...score!
Did you find anyone htat's got them?
I need soemthing cheap for my POS track car. Godspeed monomax is ont he shortlist with megan euro II and bc racing Br's
they all run slightly different springrates too

These threads always devolve into a match between two different sets of ideals. For what it's worth, I have used both high dollar suspension parts from Koni's to KW's, and ebay brands from Megan to Godspeed to no-name NNR's. I've used them on cheap nearly-junk cars to 5 series BMW's. Here's my takeaway:
- If you care about excellent performance, comfort, or a mixture of both, spend the extra $ on quality parts if you can afford it.
- If all you want to do is lower the car for an aesthetically pleasing commute, go for the less expensive stuff. I typically follow this route as it is what I do - commute with occasional fun drives down the coast or twisties. From my experience, the less expensive stuff "work" just fine - they won't blow up on you for no reason. I'm not talking $30 ebay sleeves, but the modestly priced stuff like Megans and Godspeeds. Heck, I bought a set of $300 NNR coilovers brand new for my old e39 BMW 5 series and it was just as comfortable as stock. Drove the thing for years.
Don't get me wrong though. Your ride will suffer in varying degrees from the cheap stuff, depending on what it is and the application. I absolutely loved my old Koni/GC setup on previous cars, they were so buttery smooth. Also loved my old Teins. Etc.
As always, follow the proper installation procedures and you'll be alright.

Finally got around to install. Went fairly smooth after I was able to get the stock swaybar out. I have a convertible and wasn't aware of the "3rd bolt" in the middle of the subframe. I still need to have it aligned and want drop the front another half inch which will require wheel spacers. From what I can tell so far (I got new non runflat tires too) it's a much smoother ride on the HWY and from the short section of twisties and sweepers seemed to be on rails. Overall worth the money IMO but time will tell. The coilovers, adjustable control arms, 19mm swaybar, Drag 17 inch wheels with Sumitomos came to just under $1400 by getting creative on Ebay and searching for coupon codes. Along with my supercharger pulley reduction, CAI and Milltek exhaust, I think project budget mini cooper is now complete. I'll post a pic after a good washing. Thanks for all the input folks! Happy Motoring!
Just purchased a set of Godspeed MonoMax. Fast purchase because during an oil change I saw fluid coming out of both front struts, I have a 2011 MCS.
$840 free shipping didn’t look too bad to me. Will let you guys know how everything works out when they come in.
