Anyone took advantage of military car sales overseas program???

Hello all.
Just curious if there are any military people here who has had an experience with this program before...
I wanted to find out what to expect as far as dealer experience/warranty coverage and all the info you might have, don't mind sharing... Is it worth it?
(I tried searching this forum but had no luck so far.)

Thank you...

A couple people have reported using it....
Issue is when the car goes back to the USA, there have been some issues getting MINI-usa to get the car to show up in the system as a US covered car. Think it gets done, but there have been a couple posts.... sometimes from the second owner who does a car fax and finds the car not in the database....
I have used USAA in the US, but purchasing a car overseas can have interesting paperwork implications...remember my father back in the 70's bought a car on base...got a title on an American car with a Swiss title...on an American car, and he was based back in the us when it was finely delivered...had ordered it in Korea. Sure things are a bit different now, but still things to ask folks about.

Thank you for your reply!
Yea we actually had used the program I think almost 10 yrs ago with different brand of car. Obviously we didn't need to wait so long since we took one off the lot... And yes, the paperwork needed once we got back to the state side...along with extra taxes...was really pain...
This time around, since it is a MINI, personalizing and etc, requiring much more waiting time...on top of dealers not having the enough numbers of slot like the dealers in the state side.... I guess I am not that patient...
Very interesting about your father's purchase... (He probably waited a very long time to receive his car, sounds like...)
I appreciate you taking the time.
Thanks!
