nothing technical here, just about Mini owners
Hi Group,
I am an old fart at 66, but I am young minded, as are many other Mini owners.
I find many owners will do anything to keep their little Mini cars happy. I equate this to keeping themselves happy. These little cars seem symbiotic to our life and lifestyles. They are like children to us and we treat them as such. When they break, we hurt. When we get them fixed we are happy. We try to keep them the best we can and in return, they give us much joy.
This here is our extended family and we help each other to keep our Mini cars well, which keeps us all happy!
This shows me Mini owners are family!

A bit older here, English roadsters were my delight thru the 60's and into the 70's until domestic tranquility and business moved us into the mighty Caprice for the next 30 or so years. We tripped over a MINI 9 years ago and adopted the wee laddie and we're both 20 sumptin' again.
I you treat you car like an appliance, then understanding how the many of us highly regard our MINIs would make your head explode.

I used to live in the UK before I move here in 2000.
I had a real thing for mkII ford escort RS2000's. I had 3 and I gave them all nick names based on the number plate. My last and greatest one was a 2.1L with nitrous and dual webers. The plate was RCD 191 R so I called it Richard.
I'm now over here and looking for a chili red R53 which I will name Mo. I'm a Liverpool supporter and I hope a I can get a vanity plate of M SALAH or some variant here in Maryland.

My first love was the early air-cooled VW beetle. Over 35 years I had adopted several. My second love was my ex-wife; over 14 years. My last love.; my '04 Mini R53 aka: my only child of 18 years.
I consider Mini owners to be my extended family.

Some weird folks out there, glad they are out there. Charlie, '08 Pepper White MCS, has been in the family for a number of years but it's time he moved on. He's more like a drunk uncle or that nephew who failed to launch.
MINI should realize this!
I've gotten so many messages from the dealership about buying a new MINI or selling my "old" one. I think they may have waited 18 to 24 months. I'm still in my free maintenance and they're telling me that I can get rid of mine and buy another one...

IMHO Jeremy Clarkson summed it up quite well:
