I've been a hot rodder since 1957 and have done every modification that you can think of and some that you couldn't even dream up on ALL sorts fo cars and,by far, the easiest and most cost effective thing you can do for the most enjoyable ride is to add a sprint booster and a JB tuner. 10 minutes of work and $500 worth of parts(which you can resell easily later), no tuning hassles,no EPA inspection problems, etc.,etc. I wish someone told me this years ago as I could have chased a different hobby.

Mine is doing what MINI should have done, painting the S on the SC inter-cooler RED.

Haha, that was the first "mod" I did to my R53 way back in 2003. A bit of red enamel paint and a steady hand, and it added a splash of color under the bonnet.

That's a photo from a few years later, after I had added a few other red items under the bonnet. I miss that car.

In Arizona that's a no brainer: window tint.

Replaced the stock rear sway bar with a 19mm one from H-Sport. Noticeably changed the handling dynamics for the better.

I'd say, it looks great. Not too sure about my steady hand, though . . .

Getting rid of the runflats. Then the 22mm rear swaybar. Then the 15% reduction pulley.

The best, least expensive mod I did was installing a new $40 lower engine mount in my automatic R55. It got rid of nearly all the rocking when transitioning between accelerating and decelerating. It's so much smoother now and made my Clubman feel like new again. It's an OE rubber one. I am going to put a some silicone in it to firm it up just a little, but it's really good as-is.

Had a Borla on my first MINI an 06 R53. Loved the sound but not as much

as removing the resonator on my R58 JCW.
