I have a 2009 German R56S (idk if "German" matters here or not) and my car doesnt like to start. It rumbles up and dies about 3 or even a dozen times before it finally "warms up." Lots of smoke from the mufflers, and a bit of residue in the tips. It runs fine afterwards, sometimes diminished acceleration though. I've ordered a new fuel filter to see if that helps but I'm hoping it's not the pump. If anyone has any ideas, talk to me! I'm clueless.

May we ask, how many miles on this model and are there any warning lights or error codes?

 

It has just under 80k miles and I forgot to mention it's an automatic, in case anyone was wondering. I haven't had the codes read yet due to my busy schedule and lack of gumption in between, but yes my engine light is on.

 

Since the CEL is on I'd suggest going to an Autozone (if you don't have a scanner of your own) and seeing what codes they pull. This will help us diagnose what your actual issue may be as it could be a few things.
