Ages of MINI drivers, don't be shy
Oh, man...
Geez, it looks like I'm the senior guy on this thread. I went through it twice.
64. Medicare in April. hmmm.
Over 60 vehicles over the years.
Started with a '35 Ford flatback 2D, the original PT Cruiser.
Then I got a '36 Ford same body, and a '36 Ford 3 Window coupe with a rumble seat. I had 'em all at the same time with '36 Ford 4D sedan for parts. You could buy these for $50-$150 in the mid-1950s. All were really fine cars. The windshields cranked open for ventilation and the 3-window had a crankdown rear window so you could talk to the people in the rumble seat. Most Ford parts were interchangeable from 1932-48. In the 60s I got into small cars, Fiat 500s, 600s, an Isetta, 55 Chevy, 56 Ford pickup. Many VW bugs and buses, a Triumph TR4-A. Fun years. Now, my first MINI. Really fun. Like starting over.
BTW, none of these early cars had seatbelts. The airbag was sitting next to you.

I am an amazing 52...thats what some of my friends from the fast days say. In my teens and early twentys I did very brisk driving when ever I could get away with it. They are amazed I am still alive. I have slowed down a lot, older eyes and slightly slower reaction time coupled with more crowded roads dictate reduced speeds. I still like to drive briskly, and very briskly if I am on a track.

On a serious note, I consider one to be old when one is dead. Until we're six feet under, there is so much to do, talk about, love. I know ~ real corny but I'm Corn Dawg #1

At 47, if I manage another 47, that would be livin' to 94... I like the sound of that!
So, as I do with my laps when I run each morning, here at the half way point I'll start counting down: Next birthday I'm 46!!!!
Godspeed.

i did NOT ask for compassion... i certianly did not want compassion from others... i've been flamed before for it (and now you did).... i know you wills ay something along the lines of 'you do not deserve a car cuze you are just a f**king kid who got by life easy cuze your parents have the dollars.... i have to MAKE EVERYTHING TO WHAT I AM TODAY' or something along those lines... you want to say it? just say it... don't say all this stuff of how you want to vomit and then go on to say 'ooooo, so you have to pay for gas, oh no....' why say that? just say the above which basically says 'you sir, do not deserve a car ever!'
come on, just say it... what's stopping you? huh???
now, everything aside tho... i am really happy you made to who you are today... i may not and may never be able to.... i love people who can make from nothing to everything all by him/herself... i cannot, but that doesn't make me a bad person
wrong forum???
Maybe it's me...but where is this coming from? ...misplaced thread response?
I agree with an earlier post...it is great to be so young AND have the cool car! No one has the credentials to judge you based on internet posts unless of course they have met you in person
