I'm 56 as of April 3rd but identify w/our forum teens w/their first cars as April 11th my husband of 35 yrs. SURPRISED me w/'02 MSC and it's my VERY 1st Car:smile:

Only had ~7,000 miles on it, hopefully will also be my 4-ever car and yes, it's Soooooooooo Cute!

Here's my favorite quote re: age -- Never complain about growing older, it's a privilege denied to many. (!)

53 this month but who cares when I'm driving my MINI. I'm having as much fun now as when I was 18 and driving an Austin Healey Sprite, maybe more. My Cooper S has a lot more muscle to go with the quick handling.

Got my 05 MCS as a 50th birthday present to myself. Took delivery one week before the big day. The car is a hoot. I get younger every day I drive it.

Just turned 30 a month ago. Most common question: "How does it feel to be 30?" Immediate answer: "Pretty much the same as 29!"

I am also 48. Just remember the alternative to getting older is not very promising!

i did NOT ask for compassion... i certianly did not want compassion from others... i've been flamed before for it (and now you did).... i know you wills ay something along the lines of 'you do not deserve a car cuze you are just a f**king kid who got by life easy cuze your parents have the dollars.... i have to MAKE EVERYTHING TO WHAT I AM TODAY' or something along those lines... you want to say it? just say it... don't say all this stuff of how you want to vomit and then go on to say 'ooooo, so you have to pay for gas, oh no....' why say that? just say the above which basically says 'you sir, do not deserve a car ever!'

come on, just say it... what's stopping you? huh???

now, everything aside tho... i am really happy you made to who you are today... i may not and may never be able to.... i love people who can make from nothing to everything all by him/herself... i cannot, but that doesn't make me a bad person
Okay, I was originally just going to say my age but now I am compelled to step in. I live in a community where most of the parents are the doctor and lawyer type, and are very succesful. If you are a teenager, you can expect to get a nice car...maybe even two. Average car is a BMW. My friend has an M3. When I was raised, my dad made me pay for virtually everything and said "spend your money wisely." He also said he wouldnt donate me a car. However, when I was 15, he got himself a BRG/W Cooper S works, both as a reward for himself and as a car to get to work for me the next year.
Well, as some of you might know, I loved that car to death, but I had an "episode with epilepsy" and now the Mini is no more. The mini left on oct 31, 04, and although I go to boarding school, I still dont have a car. They have told me they will get me one for summer, but It will probably be a benz '83 240D or the like. Complaining? Yes. Trying to adopt a used mini? Yes. Am I stuck up? I dont know. Oh, Im 16.

49 this year, but still feel like 25 inside. Probably has something to do with having married the caliber of woman I never even dreamed of meeting when I was young and foolish!

Funny, I remember decades ago in the 4th grade. Our teacher told us to figure out how old we would be in the year 2000. I did the math and came up with 44 years old. I thought that was ancient and could never imagine living to be that old...and now that's several years behind me! pb

49... It's not the years, it's the mileage.
