Switch placement for Aux. driving lights

Hey everyone! I have all the parts needed to install my aux. driving lights on my 2012 R60 Countryman SX except for one... The switch... What I am wondering is if I have to go with the one that mounts below the steering wheel? I was looking everything over the other day, and I thought to myself why couldnt I just get one more fog light switch, and mount it in the center console right beside the existing fog light switch... There is already a dead spot there just begging for something to be installed!
What I want to know is what other people have done. Additionally, if anyone has accomplished what I want to do, how difficult was it?

The stock location for the accessory LED Driving/Rally Lights on the F56 is on the side of the steering column (dealer added). I don't really care for this location...would be better on the dash imo.

If I was locating my own Driving Lights switch I'd find a spot on the dash for sure. When you need them in the middle of the night the location needs to be easy to access! Not fumbling around finding the button!

A toggle switch or pop-out switch would be best imo.
