Whats it Worth?

Evening Guys,

I've been away for a long while now. But, looking to change that.

Found a Mini for sale locally.

Some details are:

2005
Hyper Blue Exterior White Roof/Mirrors
Black Leatherette
Auto A/C
Xenon Headlights
Manual Trans
18" JCW Wheels
JCW package (Dealer Installed so no Brakes)

Its a one owner. (Older man) All Dealer Serviced. Clutch and Charger done just 60k ago.

But here is the kicker its got 240k on it. The guy used it for a daily commuter over a few hundred miles a day.

The car mechanically is all up to date on service and I have no issues with that what so ever. I used to be a service tech so I'm more than capable in keeping it going for many more miles.

What I do have issues/questions with is the price. Hes Asking $4500. To me given the miles its too high. He keeps telling me the JCW package and wheels make it worth the amount.

What do you think Is fair its hard to use KBB, NADA, Edmunds, ect. in this situation, imo.

I was thinking of offering say $3600 and going no more than 4k on it.

What year is it (or am I blind and didn't see it, haha)?
Best bet would be to look at other MINIs for sale and see if you can come up with what the median price would be.

It is!

I checked out the car and it wasnt as clean as he had lead on. It had the 18" JCW wheels, but they were pretty thrashed.

Ended up offering him $3500 for it and We shall see if he ends up taking it. He was thinking about it. Honestly, dont see him getting anymore than that elsewhere.

I have plans to strip most of it down and re-build it for a track toy.

3500 sounds fair. He could part it out and get more, but that takes time, space and hassle. He should take the offer - he'd get 1500 on a trade in.

Pics , I have on 250K on and 05' MCC and its in great shape. Most people don't believe how many miles are on it , but I was the only owner.

I would drive it and have it inspected, good luck.

And post up some pics.
