Phone does not appear in Snap-in Connector

Just got the snap-in connector for my '15 Countryman, and my iPhone 5S is not appearing in the snap in menu (i.e. phone does not appear in the list of available devices in the multimedia submenu)

It's charging the phone, so it appears the connection is there ... well, some kind of connection. Has anyone else experienced this?

I got the standard one, I guess for cars without the nav/MINI connected. The new one is 84 21 2 289 717, although it was working for a while, now it's not for some reason and I'm losing the will to live

Yea, that the media one for iphone 5/ 5s : 84212289717

When you snap in the adapter to the center armrest make sure you tilt the front and first then snap the back down tight, so the contacts make connecting. Had mine wiggle loose. Then install the phone back end down then front. Dont tilt it too much.

That way the connection is secure. Had a snap in since original IPhone so i know how touchy they can be.

Thanks! Somehow it's appearing again, though I didn't do anything. Now I'm afraid to touch it!

One question: it seems like the audio is getting a lot of static when going through the snap in connector. I'm guessing the audio out levels are too high and it's overwhelming the system. But I can't figure out how to adjust this. Is there a setting somewhere? There's no static when going over Bluetooth, so it's not the speakers, thank god.

Under the Nav or stereo there is a setting for aux / input volume.

It looks like it was a software issue: after the update to MINI Connected 3.1, the audio issue went away.

Have you noticed on the side of the snap-in adapter, there is a little cover, and if you open the cover, there is a micro usb port.

wonder if anyone has used this micro usb port? I tried to connect my iphone 6 to this, but I dont even get a charging symbol on my phone.

Anyone else give it a shot?

Look at the right hand side of the Iphone 5/5s adapter, there is a little cover. it feels like it will snap if you pry it, however it wont. underneath is a micro usb port.

sorry, I dont have any pics. I'll see if I can post a pic tonight.

Yea, i know what you mean, dont know if that works or if its a slot to program the snap in itself at the factory.
