R56 Auto-up Windows

My sister bought a MINI about a week ago and so I hopped in it to do a test drive (and compare it to mine )...

One of the things I had noticed is that she had auto-up windows... Her car is a 2008, and mine is a 2007. :(

I've been across all kinds of forums (mostly this one) seeing different answers. The most I have seen have been...
  • Fob in, roll windows down, fob out. Fob in, roll windows up, fob out.
  • Code the vehicle to allow these and other features (not sure how to do).

I've tested the first method, and it didn't seem to work. However, my passenger side window's motor is a tad slower than the driver window, but I have no idea if that has anything to do with it.

Here are my questions:
  1. What is the simplest way to allow this feature?
  2. If you have the answer, could you describe in detail how to do so?

Thanks in advance.

You should have auto-up for the drivers side (do you?). For the passenger side, it wasn't enabled (in the US) until 2008. There might be a way to enable it with NCS Expert programming.

Nope! No auto-up at all. I've heard there are ways to program it, but I wouldn't know where to start.

Also try the procedure in this thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ml#post3372843

By programming, I mean using NCS Expert which takes effort and technical expertise to set up and carries some risk if you do something wrong. You'll get a flood of information if you search the forum for "NCS Expert", but you can start here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...beginners.html. Some MINI/BMW specialty repair shops may be set up to do programming. Otherwise, go to a dealership.

edit: changed link

I'll probably see if a dealer can do it. Just don't have the time right now to invest into learning programming in German... :|
