does anyone know if BMW's roof rack bars will fit on a factory clubman (2009)roof rails? I called the Parts Department of Mini and they said no but I feel like they were lying to me to get me to buy stuff from them or just didn't really know.

any insight is appreciated!!!

 

I don't see how they could fit since "BMWs" don't have the same roof line, mount, or size as a Clubman.

Are you talking about an entire roof rack or just the cross bars? What model BMW are you referring to?

I believe R56 towers fit the Clubman.. But I'm not sure.

 

Why do you think a BMW roof rack will fit? Motor on.

 

My hunch is they would not work. I had a BMW 3 series cross bar that would not even fit another BMW X3. They seem to be very specific. Even having a Yakima rack, you need different length bars and different mounts to make it work on different vehicles. Of course, Yakima did not have attachments for the Mini so I also ended up with a set up MINI cross bars. You could simply go to a dealership and measure the distance and see if the factory rails look the same.

 

thanks for the info guys! I was just trying to save some $$$ and hoping it would work. looks like I'll have to wait for someone to sell their OEM roof racks on the Marketplace

 

The cross bars on my Clubman only cost $200 from the dealer. I don't think that's expensive.

 

If anyone is interested, I found and bought these on eBay. It's from the Mini of Montgomery eBay store which is local from where I'm at!!!
