Harman Kardon stereo- FM button not working

EXCITED!!! I Just purchased "the Stubby" from Cravenspeed. Only to realize the FM button is not working. The stereo itself is working just fine. I never used the FM, due to bad reception on the island. Thought this would help with that.. It might but I now have no FM... Any ideas? LOL hope it's not victim to the worst cup holder ever installed.

Suggestions Welcome- '07 mini s convt HK boost

I take it the FM somewhat worked before? What happens when you put the original antenna back on?

Great question... I didnt swap them, i just prepared to and the Stereo is stuck on AM. It used to work, just mountains on the island impede signal..
?? Electrical contact spray? Maybe?

Cycle through mode button above it and then hit the FM button. Might have frozen up.

Thanks ECS

I've tried that a few hundred times. Hoping it will just work- can the button be removed and the contact cleaned? It for sure has been splashed from my cup holder wobble- What usually has one tuning button stuck as opposed to another? Ie AM...
Thank you!!!

You are welcome. You will have to take the down tubes out and then access the stereo then with the deck out take the faceplace off and then get to the contacts and clean up any residue with alcohol of windex, use a q-tip and a toothpick to clean it out or the sticky soda.

Here is a good thread also for the aux connection.

Note on the 07+ R52 and the ( 2006 GP ) the faceplate just looks a little different orginataion but same set up.

Thanks

Have fun on the Island " St Thomas us virgin islands" and seen a couple MINI's down there.

Post up some pics on the island.
