Sunshade vs Tint sunroof
Sunshade vs Tint sunroof
Anyone limo tint their sunroof? I'm wondering if that would be enough/a better solution to keep the car cooler inside rather than messing with buying a sunshade (zippie.) I live in FL and the sun is intense almost year round. If I limo tint the sunroof and close the sunscreen will it be any better than it is from the factory to keep things a little cooler? I'd like to avoid having to suction cup a sunshade.
That's interesting... Anyone know why that might happen?
It's been described as excessive heat being trapped between the tint and glass causing it to shatter. Again, this is what I have heard. No first hand experience and not willing to chance it.
Yea but you guys get White Christmas's I have gone swimming or surfing after the Rose Parade when I was going college in SoCal back in the day.

Yep, am in AZ as well. We did the limo tint on the sunroof, no problems, helped a lot. And yes, we're suffering thru 70 degree weather. On the flip side, it's hard to describe what it's like over 110 everyday in July..
Tints are available in various degrees of resistance sun heat energy I used 80% and it definitely makes a difference. It still meets state requirements for darkness for tinting.

I have 5% limo tint on my sunroof as well...have had it for almost four years now. No problems with the glass of the sunroof whatsoever.
FL summers are hotter than hell and the intensity of the sun is brutal, but I think the 5% tint does help keep the car cooler. I usually pop the sunroof open at the back, pull the factory mesh screen, and use a folding reflective windshield screen too.

I had the ceramic tint installed to reduce the heat, but it is still too hot. So I purchase one of the standard windshield reflectors and cut it to fit . With the silver side up and the tinted sunroof you cannot tell it is there. It really reduces the heat. When I want to open the sunroof I just remove it and fold it up and lay it in the back set.
