I have a 2011 hardtop. I have an iphone 5, I also have an older ipod.

I also have no Y cable, wasnt included in the used purchase. So that said, what options do I have, dealer has them for $100, any cheaper more reliable options? Ebay and amazon are flooded, and reliable cheap ones.

will it work on the ipod, its not an itouch, just ipod, also whats a good cheap Y for the Iphone 5.

There are different types of Y connectors so make sure to order the correct one--I believe it depends on the options in the vehicle (for example SA6FP+6NE (Radio MINI Visual Boost + Mobile Bluetooth Preparation with USB-Audio-Interface), SA6UM+6NE (MINI Navigation System + Mobile Bluetooth Preparation with USB-Audio-Interface); SA7L5 (Wired). In my case, the Y connector for use with Mini Connect option data has a triangular connector and the Y connector for voice only has a rectangular connector. Mine was delivered with the wrong rectangular one and the dealer had to FedEx me the correct one. The wrong one would not recognize the Mini Connect. Not to mention I needed to purchase a Apple lightning adapter since the Y connectors were designed for the larger iphone 4 plug not the smaller 5.

What are you trying to do. Connect for wired audio (not Bluetooth) and/or phone?

 

I have a '13 without MINI connect. I have an iPhone 5. Got a Y at Car Toys for $40. Don't know about iPod.
