Hello ev1...

I bought 06' cooper S this past winter and now I have no idea how to turn onn the Air Conditioner. There is the ac button with light but the button cannot be pressed or won't go in. Is it possible that my mini did not come with AC?

i dont think you can buy a car today that does not come with AC standard....

and if for some reason it didnt come with AC, they wouldnt have put the button for it in the car.


......im willing to bet your button is just broken/ stuck.......

 

turn down the temperature on the center dial ring around the readout for temp. blue and red arrows to go up or down, and if the fan is blowing (auto will do), you will get AC, provided it's not in need of a recharge.


in the image below it is set to 74F - turn the ring around that number to the left, counter clockwise, to select a lower temperature. Rest is the way mine looks when it's blowing cold:

On your A/C control push the Auto located on the top left of the control, if the outside temperature is colder than your setting the AC compressir remain off, lower it below the outside temperature by turning the know towards left, 1 click is 1 degree increment, when i turn on my AC i always put the unit on circulation.

I have the rotary ac/heat system (IHKS).
I think your right Mcameron. I pulled the button out and it pushes back in but i have to pulled it out again. Its clogged pretty good. Ac still not working and the button does not light up. I guess i have to take it apart or take it to a pro.
