How To Move Badge?

Hello all. I have standard stripes on my mini now and want to move the 'cooper' badge on the right side of the hatch/boot a little to the left to make it look more symmetrical. How would I do this? I assume I would use something like floss to cut the glue on the back and then super glue them in their new spots? Thanks!

Yep, something like fishing line will work. I actually found one of the little plastic cards used to squeegee the air bubbles out from under vinyl worked well to get leverage.

If you can get some good, heavy-duty clear tape, put that on the letters first. That will help them stay in the same relative position to each other as they pop off instead of having to manually line everything back up. It does make the job a little more challenging, but probably worth it.

I used some 3M double sided tape from the auto parts store when re-installing. I would not use super glue.

You should probably have something like Goo-B-Gone or lighter fluid or whatever your favorite stuff is for removing glue residue to clean up what is left after you get the letters off.

Dental floss works very well too. I did pop for a new badge though. Trying to get the old one lined up drove me nuts. Lay a short strip of painter's tape down on both sides of the badge and with a straight edge across the bottom mark the tape to give yourself a benchmark as a reference of exactly how to replace them.

Do yourself a favor and just buy a new badge. It will never look right if you reuse it.

Heat gun and dental floss work to get it off.

Yup, that's where I got mine. Instead of fussing for a couple hours getting 6 or 7 things lined up just right it was only one thing lined up just right in a couple of minutes.

Absolutely. I added the "COUNTRYMAN" lettering to the boot of my car, which involved relocating the "Cooper" badge. It comes off easily with fishing line and Goo Gone to remove the remaining adhesive. I tried to use trim tape to reinstall the lettering, but it didn't come out quite right. i ordered a new badge through ECS Tuning. It cost about $20 and came on a carrier that kept all of the letters properly lined up. Installed in about a minute with no issues. Definitely buy a new one.
