Cant get any respect in my mini
Some kid in a Chevy HHR, of all things, decided to mess with the MINI a couple days ago. After I passed a slower car on a back road, this kid passed both of us, then cut me off and gave me the thumbs down sign. We were too close to a stop at an intersection for me to pass him, so I just stayed with him until we were through. Of course, I dusted him easily and even chirped third, which really rubbed it in.

Yeah, didn't think about that. I've never been much of an observer of speech codes. ;-)

Did you ask her if the Corvette was her husband's?
Its all the asian exchange students. Their families send them over and set them up with insane cars. You wouldn't believe the cars these kids have, brand new M5s, GT-Rs, Aston Martins, R8s etc and they drive them all through the winter too!
I've been told the reason I attract the a-holes on the road is because the color of my car stands out, I have a 2008 Oxygen Blue "Justa" Cooper and as of 4 weeks ago she's now lowered, that hasn't increased the Tailbiters, but it's still not fun having to constantly look for an escape route when I'm pushed beyond my tolerance!! I have nothing to prove, I just keep saying" Shoulda' bought a MINI!!"

The other day I was driving through the neighborhood with the windows down and a teenager on a skateboard hollered "nice motorcycle" at me... While I'm not bothered by it at all (opinions of random kids rank down there with things like the pattern of flora on paper towels in my world) I assume this was some kind of disrespectful gesture... I'm just not quite sure what to make of it. While I don't ride, if motorcycles have at some point become "uncool" I must've missed it. They're fast, fun to ride, economical...
No positive comments from kids on the newest acquisition, but a pack of roaming teens did compliment the white silver edition Clubman I had before this one, stating it was "the most bad *** MINI they'd ever seen" (not a claim I'd have made for it, but I thanked them just the same).
In traffic, people around here drive like self-centered *******s and will act aggressively regardless of what you drive. I don't think I get cut off or have people try to crowd me any more in a MINI than they did in my truck, though I am less likely to call their bluff now than I was simply because damaging the MINI would bother me more. Come over on me in the truck, I'd just get it fixed and move on.

I don't care much about macho perceptions and never have. Overt machismo always comes of as insecurity IMO. Anywho, I drive a F55 S in electric blue with racing stripes, it the best car I've ever owned. Puts a smile on my face daily. I tend to wave at most MINIs, get a wave back about 30% of the time. I've gotten a couple of preemptive waves. Wave at MINI drivers, I promise it makes them feel good.
