Blackout Trim

So I have attempted to black out my mini trim but it hasn't worked out too well, I used plastidip and lots of it looks crackly. I've noticed some beltline vinyl online which I'll probably get but the black trim kits are way too expensive ($500+). Any suggestions for alternatives?

Get a quote from a local vinyl wrapping place.

Get your own vinyl sheets and do you itself.

Prep your surfaces better so the plastidip sticks.

Paint it with real paint.

I've seen the beltline trim kits from vendors here on NAM that are less than $50 as I recall. Go to the Vendor list and check the websites of several of them.

I vinyl wrapped all of the trim on my F56 black. It was super easy, with the exception of removing the front bumper. All you need is a heat gun, the vinyl, and I bought a wrap kit from Amazon for 10 bucks. All said and done it cost me $55 I think, but I already had the heat gun.

Back in the day ( 1st Gen Cars ) folks used to use electrical tape on the cheap. I work at a sign shop so I cut some strips in matte black vinyl and went to town on all the chrome. Boot handle, door handles, grille, headlight trim, beltline etc.. Most of it is not very hard once you get going on it...

Beltline blackout kit from Outmotoing $10.95. Krylon Maxx (spay paint) semi-gloss works on plastic. Newtis shows how to remove/replace parts.
