Some people would read that post and go... .

Banana Gloss won't hurt (whiten) your trim, at all. It's one of the nice things about that product.

I wouldn't go slathering it on the trim... not sure how much you want to test out this theory. But if you get some on there, no worries. Wipe it off and press forward with the job.

Now, BJ on your trim... that's something entirely different.

do not like white on black trim!!
I put on black wow before epic, and work to keep off trim, But after some time working it gets harder to be good.

None of us OCDetailers do ! We hate it ! We loathe it with a passion !

So yeah, be careful with the polishes and the waxes. I hate taping before I do a detail but it beats trying to get the white stuff off the trim.

Talk about speaking in code!

Ditto what ChiliPetJet said. BG won't stain your trim, especially when you have BW on it.

(translation: Prima Banana Gloss wax won't stain your trim, especially when you have Black Wow on it)

Being a mommy has made you funnier, Heather.

And yeah, let me clarify that previous statement:

....so be careful when you're working with polishes or MOST waxes.

Long Live BG !!! By the way, applying a coat on my JB MCS Convertible tomorrow as my final step of my 4-day detailing process.

Took me a couple of minutes to find it, but here is a thread about this very issue I started a while ago.

I was pretty surprised how well the alcohol worked for me. Even though I taped, I still managed to get wax on the trim. I tried using the edge of a Skinny MF, but it didn't work as well as an old, rough terry cloth rag I had laying around.

Hey, Mark... I remember that problem you had with BG. I've used it five or six times now, never taping the trim, and it's never left white stains. Wondering if you didn't get a "bad" batch ?

So I just got through using 70% isopropyl alcohol, crappy microfiber and elbow grease to strip off my BW and scrub on the polish stains... working surprisingly well... probably 90% or more is gone now. Leaves the trim looking a little dry and stripped - but that's the idea. A reapplication of BW and I should be good to go.

i use Griot's PaintPrep to remove such wax stains. it didn't do much for polish stains though.

Yeah - I almost ordered that stuff to try on my polish... glad I didn't.

yah, i think if it was a 'fresher' stain it would work but that polish stain's been on the car since 4yrs+ ago so it's like part of the mold now.

with BW on there though no hint of it can be seen.
