Is this common? (Cold air intake related)

One of the MCS I am considering buying has a cold air intake added. To make room the battery was moved to the back of the car, with the little tool kit, under the floor in the boot (is that the right word? Still trying to learn the lay of the land).

The modification was done by the owners son who is a professional diesel mechanic, for whatever that is worth.

Curious how common this practice is since cold air intakes seem to be common. Also curious what implications the intake and battery work might have on an extended warranty. Anyone had any experience with that?

On a R53 that is where the battery is supposed to be.

What year is the car...
As stated previously....
The gen1 S comes from the factory with a trunk mounted under the floor of the trunk (so no spare)...so 2002-2006 hardtop s cars and 2005-2008 S cabrio (ragtops) all have rear mounted batteries....

No problem,

Yea, maybe they were not familiar with Gen 1 Cooper S MINIs , thought it was a mod? Stock they are ion the back for that model.

Post up some pics and we can help you out on what that MINI has stock vs. mod.

Thanks
