Towing the mini

We are new mini owners and would like to tow our mini behind the motorhome. Does anyone have any information on flat towing the vehicle?

A flat trailer as I can't see how you would connect it.

There are a couple of small pins that are attached that connect to the tow bar. Our concern is the suitability of the transmission with the flat towing.

The attached doc might be helpful.

If it's an automatic transmission, you almost certainly don't want the front wheels rolling without the car running.

Thanks for the info. It is a manual. It looks as though it will be fine. I'm really impressed with the response I have received. Never had a website forum so responsive!

I have a 2007 Mini S, manual 6 speed with a start/stop button that I flat tow behind my RV. I have installed Roadmaster tow brackets on the Mini. Is there any way to disable the steering lock? Also, is there any way to keep the odometer from recording miles while being towed? I would appreciate any help with this. Thanks, Jim

We have the same car and flat tow. Need to install the key for accessories and unable to keep the odometer from recoding miles. Took us a while to learn to tow with the lights on on the RV.
