Can someone summarize what are the upsides to participating in this event, other than caravaning nose-to-tail with our MINIs ?

Why would you leave your car?
And it's not tail to nose.
The Rise N Shine & Evening Events are a great reason, other than meeting great people and discovering MINI drivers right next door to you that you never knew.
Food, Fun, lots n lots of twisty roads.
Did I mention the cool places to see along the roads? They don't just jump on a interstate highway and head straight to point B.
