I generally get all used oil from my cars analyzed, and my MINI is no different, so I'd like to share my findings as they come in with anyone that's interested.

So far I've had OCIs of the Factory Fill, Motul X-Cess 8100, the dealership's MINI 5w30, RedLine 0w30, and another pass of the dealership's 5w30.

Anyways, here's my latest analysis report (which includes all 5). I'll try to update this thread as other intervals get analyzed.

Why are you still only doing 5k ish miles? It can easily go more. Try 7k

 

Because I don't want to run it that long. 5k is my limit on turbocharged engines, at least on engines with tiny sumps like this one. These UOAs confirm that it is a good strategy. I'm looking for minimal wear and maximum cleanliness, with a high level of protection available right up to the point where I drain it. I'm not interested in cutting that corner to get another couple thousand miles out of it.
